The Turn the Key process is designed to make becoming a homeowner simple and straightforward. From registering your account to getting the keys to your new home, here’s exactly what to expect — every step of the way.
1. Register for your Turn the Key (TTK) account.
2. Complete the TTK interest form.
3. Fill out your official TTK application.
4. Watch the PHFA certification webinar.
5. Upload your income documents and PHFA certification.
6. TTK reaches out to schedule a one-on-one meeting.
7. Meet with TTK for your scheduled session.
8. Receive your official income certification from TTK.
9. Get approved and meet with Fine Print Companies to choose your new home.
You must be a first-time buyer – a person who has never owned a home or who has not owned a home for three years prior to applying to Turn The Key.
You must complete PHDC-approved one-on-one homeownership counseling before signing an Agreement of Sale.
Your household income can be no higher than 100% of Area Median Income (AMI) – the amount that matches up with the size of your household. AMI is calculated by the federal government for use by housing assistance programs.
